What is a Registered Process Server?
In the United States, each party must be notified of matters concerning them in a court of law. The
person delivering
of such legal
documents to the person the document
concerns as third-party individual who is not involved in the case
is a process server. This third party is responsible for
delivering said documents or, in some cases, leaving the legal notice
with an adult member of the individual's household or a member of
management at the individual's place of employment, which is known as
substitute service. In most counties it is requied this person be "Registered", they must be 18 yars of age, a resident in the State, hold a bond, be on record with the county their main business office is located in and undergo livescan fingerprinting. If cleared by the county of record they are issued an I.D. and are able to serve legal documents anywhere in CA. For detailed information contact your local county clerks office.
